Shirtless TV Hunks (Summer Lovin' Edition)

Last month, ABC announced that their summer series, Bachelor Pad, will not have a fourth season. That's too bad, because it sure had a lot of shirtless hunks to ogle!

The first season debuted in August of 2010. Hosted by Chris Harrison and former Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft, the show featured former contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, who competed for a cash prize of $250,000.

Some of the hunks were: Juan Barbieri, David Good, Jesse Kovacs, Kiptyn Locke, Craig McKinnon, Jonathan Novack, Wes Hayden and Jesse Beck. The co-winner's were David Good and Natalie Getz.

BIOGRAPHY
Hugh Jackman is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and on Broadway. The Sydney-born actor is a stage-trained performer having studied and worked extensively in his native Australia. Hugh Jackman is married to actress Deborra-Lee Furness. The couple have two children, Oscar and Ava.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS 
Movie-goers and film critics took note of Hugh early in his career, for performances in Erskineville Kings (1999), Paperback Hero (1999). In 2000, Hugh's career exploded when he was cast as Logan/Wolverine in the world-wide box-office hit, X-Men.

With his easy charm and handsome good looks, Hugh was cast as the romantic lead in Someone Like You... (2001, with Ashley Judd) and Kate & Leopold (2001, with Meg Ryan). Hugh was now a bonafide international movie star.

Throughout the decade fans enjoyed seeing Hugh in Van Helsing (2004); Scoop (2006); The Fountain (2006); The Prestige (2006), as well as the X-Men sequels (see Hugh's selected filmography at the end of the post).

Looking for even more challenges Hugh signed on for the film adaption of the hit Broadway musical, Les Misérables, and enthralled audiences and critics with his performance as Jean Valjean.

Released in late 2012, Les Misérables, became another box-office success for Hugh and earned Hugh his first Academy Award nomination as Best Actor!

BROADWAY
In 2004, Hugh Jackman won the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Australian singer/songwriter Peter Allen in the hit musical The Boy from Oz.

In 2009, Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig co-starred on Broadway in a limited engagement run of the play, A Steady Rain.

In 2011, Hugh Jackman returned to Broadway in a new hit show, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway.

TELEVISION
For hosting the 2004 Tony Awards, Hugh Jackman won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performer in a Variety, Musical or Comedy program.

WAM! Trevor Donovan makes a 'Splosh'

Trevor Donovan recently guest starred on the second season of THE CLIENT LIST. In the episode, "My Main Trial is Yet to Come", his character, Dashiell Codd's fetish is... WAM (wet and messy). WAM is also known as sploshing.

THE CLIENT LIST stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays Riley Parks, a working Mom down on her luck. Riley gets hired to work as a massage therapist at The Rub. Because Riley's husband left her in such bad financial circumstances she agrees to provide her clients with some extra kink (for a fee, of course) along with their massages.

When I want to know if a celebrity is openly gay I go to The Queer Online Database (a who's who of who's out). When I want to read well-written movie reviews or celebrity interviews I visit Movie Dearest. Now there's a terrifc new site called Out Movie Guide which focuses on gay film culture. Its posts are informative and I particularly like how each film has an awards and trivia section.

YOSSI and JAGGER (starring Ohad Knoller and Yehuda Levi) and SHELTER (starring Trevor Wright and Brad Rowe) are two of my favorite romantic dramas that I've seen in the last 10 years and that I can highly recommend. Here's little bit about them:

Seen here on the balcony of his hotel in Sydney, Australia, Zac Efron has been doing promotion for his upcoming romantic drama, THE LUCKY ONE. Judging by these pics (see below) revealing Zac's pants slowly slipping off his tightly-toned waist, I'd say we're the lucky ones! Zac, you are looking hotter than ever!




The film, "The Lucky One" is based on the best selling novel by Nicholas Sparks and co-stars Taylor Schilling. It was released in April 2012. The movie grossed over $91 million worldwide.

  WHO IS HE?
Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. His father, Harald Horst Ludwig, is Co-Chairman of the Board for Lions Gate Entertainment Corp and his mother, Sharlene, is a former actress. The 19-year old Alexander is the eldest of four children. He has 3 younger siblings that are also in show business: twins, Natalie and Nicholas and sister, Sophie.

EARLY CAREER

Like many young actors just starting out, some of Alexander's first paying gigs were appearances in TV commercials. But his break out role was landing the lead of Will Stanton in, THE SEEKER: THE DARK. That movie was based on the popular young adult fantasy series, THE DARK IS RISING, by Susan Cooper, and was released in October of 2007. The film was directed by David L Cunningham and starred Ian McShane, Frances Conroy, Drew Tyler Bell, Christopher Eccleston and fellow Canucks, Gregory Smith and Wendy Crewson.

BREAKTHROUGH FILM AT THE BOX OFFICE
Alexander enjoyed his first real success at the box office in March 2009 when the science fiction thriller, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, opened at number one and went on to earn over 100 million dollars. The film was directed by Andy Fickman and is based on the popular novel, ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, by Alexander Key. The movie starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb and Carla Gugino.

LATEST FILM PROJECT

Alexander enthusiastically embraced his character, Cato, for the science fiction drama, THE HUNGER GAMES, by working out at the gym to gain 40 pounds of muscle for the role. The film, which is based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, was directed by Gary Ross and features up and coming Hollywood actors Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.

The film was released in March 2012 and quickly went on to become a worldwide phenomenon, earning more than 400 million dollars at the box office so far!

Move over Taylor Lautner, there's a new teen heartthrob on the Hollywood scene and his name is Alexander Ludwig! He is a star ascending, a hot new talent at the dawn (not the 'Twilight') of his career. You can see Alexander Ludwig in the blockbuster sci-fi thriller, THE HUNGER GAMES, one of the biggest movie blockbusters of 2012. The ambitious 19-year old Canadian hunk is also a talented musician; check iTunes for his new single, "Live It Up (Teenage Wasteland)".

Alexander was also recently featured in QTC's Talent Watch, not the least because of his uniquely handsome good looks and six-pack abs, but because he is proving himself to be a charming and committed actor. To The Hirsute Male We Salute You

Friends, readers and countrymen... I come here to praise the hairy-chested man in all his glorious varieties: the muscle bear, the daddy bear; the silver fox, the sporting jock; the average 'joe' and the erotic model wearing 'JOE'.

Be it coarse or silky, curly or straight, wooly or clipped, there is an undeniable allure for many of us to explore the hidden depths of the hairy chest. It is an adventure to seek out and feel the masculinity of the hirsute male.

Someone, somewhere, once said something about loving a man in uniform. To that I add, I love a man in a hairy chested body. Unlike a uniform, you can't take chest hair off (permanently).








So, to conclude my oratory on the virtues of hirsuteness, please join with me to pay homage to the men with hair on their chests... gaze lovingly (and often) at these fine specimens... hirsute men, we salute you.

The Secret Life of Hall & Oates

The legendary Pop-Rock duo Hall & Oates, have had a successful career for more than 4 decades. It has been 20-plus years since this ROLLING STONE cover with the salacious headline, "The Secret Life of Hall & Oates", hit the newsstands, obviously intending to exploit long time rumours of one or both musicians being gay. The rumours seemed to have originatedfrom the artwork which graced the cover of their 1975 album entitled, DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES. This highly stylized artwork was meant to be edgy and very modern, reflecting the unisex, metallic glam-rock style that was popular in the era (think David Bowie's 1974 album DIAMOND DOGS).

The music however, was more in the vein of soft pop-rock, as evidenced by their classic track"Sara Smile", that was featured on the album. Unexpectedly, the record company's attempt to promote the duo as hip and edgy backfired, resulting in them being perceived by some as too feminine and worse, gay. The gay rights movement of the late 1970's with it's disco anthemed life force was in full-swing, leading many in the macho world of rock music to feel very threatened and looking for any excuse or anyone to lash out at. This bashing culminated with the 1979 Disco Demolition Night in Chicago.

Hall & Oates were not disco artists, their only 'crime' was that they were 'pretty boy' purveyors of pop music. Rumors are strange beasts that seem to never die... was the ROLLING STONE article an exposé on Hall & Oates' coming out? No. Neither Hall nor Oates is gay. But the magazine cover did make people gossip and spread further rumors. Some things just never change, do they?

Director Steven Soderbergh's eagerly anticipated R-rated drama, MAGIC MIKE, will be in theatres on Friday, June 29, 2012. Playing dancers at a male revue are some of Hollywood's hottest hunks: Channing Tatum (THE VOW, 21 JUMP STREET); Matt Bomer (WHITE COLLAR); Joe Manganiello (TRUE BLOOD); and Matthew McConaughey (THE LINCOLN LAWYER, BERNIE).

The 2012 Summer Olympics will be taking place in London UK from July 27 to August 12, 2012. Many of the world's finest athletes will be there to give it their all, in hopes of winning an Olympic medal. Some of the top male athletes from the United States, who will be competing at this summer's game, are: Logan Dooley, trampoline gymnast; Trey Hardee, decathlete; Wallace Spearmon, sprinter; plus, freestyle wrestlers Jake Herbert and Jordan Burroughs. Some, if not most, of my favorite summer Olympic sports involve water play. I am especially partial to divers but to be fair the photo gallery here showcases swimmers as well. Photographer Lucas Jackson captured these U.S. Olympians in anticipation of the 2012 Summer Olympics. The games will take place in London UK from July 27 to August 12, 2012. Recently, actor Chris Klein showed off his rocking hot bod in the movie, American Reunion. In the film, he plays NFL sportscaster Chris "Oz" Ostreicher, who is a contestant on the fictional TV show, Celebrity Dance-Off (hosted, natch, by Neil Patrick Harris in a cameo appearance). Chris and NPH looked like they were having a lot of fun in their scenes together. Chris Klein  fans everywhere were thrilled to have him and his sexy body back on the big screen. American Reunion made over $230 million world wide at the box office!

It's great to see handsome actor Chris Klein's career on the upswing, especially after his 2010 DUI arrest and subsequent stint in rehab. Earlier in 2012, he appeared in the box office hit, American Reunion. The following images are from a scene in the movie. Chris has never looked better - his body is totally fit and those pecs are to die for! Chris has also been doing a lot of television as of late. He's had a recurring role as Drew on FX's cult hit, WILFRED (starring Elijah Wood, Jason Gann). Last night, Lifetime aired "Liz & Dick", the much talked about TV movie starring Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor and Grant Bowler as Richard Burton. Elizabeth Taylor was as a huge gay icon, making this trash-tacular TV-flick a must-see event for gay Hollywood. Cue Kathy Griffin...

 As Greg in Hollywood reports, gay fave Kathy Griffin hosted a viewing party of the movie. One of her guests was GLEE cutie, Chris Colfer. Kathy looked fabulous in Elizabeth Taylor 'drag'. And Kathy being Kathy, she live tweeted the event, too. Looks like it was a fun time!

 The movie was panned by TV critics. Greg in Hollywood got busy posting celebrity twitter reactions to the bio-pic. Here are a few that I thought were among the funniest:

Will Grant Bowler's career survive after the disastrous reviews of the Lifetime bio-pic, "Liz & Dick"? Probably. Grant has been a popular TV star since the 1990's, when he played Constable Wayne Patterson in the Australian TV show, Blue Healers. The sexy and charismatic theatre trained actor will no doubt move on to bigger and better projects, a tribute to his in-demand status within international TV circles. Whatever he tackles next, we can always count on Grant to show some skin.
